How to Farm Mob Drops with Overworld Ores

Most ores in the mod drop the ordinary loot of the mob they are named after. That makes them a passive farm: mine the ore, get the drop, skip the fight.

What Each Ore Gives You

Break Cow Ore for leather and beef. Break Pig Ore for porkchops. Break Chicken Ore for chicken and feathers. Break Sheep Ore for wool and mutton. Break Rabbit Ore for rabbit hide and rabbit meat. Break Cod Ore and Salmon Ore for raw fish. Break Pufferfish Ore for pufferfish. Break Squid Ore for ink sacs.

Hostile-mob ores work the same way. Skeleton Ore gives bones and arrows. Zombie Ore gives rotten flesh. Spider Ore gives string and spider eyes. Creeper Ore gives gunpowder. Enderman Ore gives ender pearls. Slime Ore gives slime balls. Magma Cube Ore gives magma cream. Witch Ore gives glowstone dust, redstone, sugar, spider eyes, gunpowder and sticks. Guardian Ore gives prismarine shards and crystals. Phantom Ore gives phantom membranes. Hoglin Ore gives porkchops and leather. Piglin Ore gives gold nuggets and gold ingots. Bat Ore gives nothing useful beyond the ore itself.

Building a Farm Route

Mark each ore type you find with a torch or sign. Mine only the ores whose drops you currently need, and leave the rest for later. This keeps your inventory clean and turns a single cave into a renewable supply of leather, string, gunpowder and ender pearls without ever swinging a sword.
