How to Craft and Use Apple Oak Hedges

Crafting the Hedge

Apple Oak Hedge is the base block of the hedge family. Combine it from oak-related materials in a crafting table to produce the hedge block. Once crafted, place Apple Oak Hedge along paths, garden borders, or around orchards to create a dense green wall.

Hedges are full blocks, so they work as fencing substitutes and as decorative walls. Stack them to any height you like, or run them at ground level as a low border.

Turning Hedges into Leaf Carpets

Every hedge variant has a matching leaf carpet. Apple Oak Leaf Carpet is the flat, walkable version of Apple Oak Hedge. Craft the carpet from the hedge (or from the same oak materials used for the hedge) and place it on top of solid blocks to make paths, patios, and ground cover.

Leaf carpets are thin, so you can lay them over grass, dirt, or stone without replacing the block underneath. Use them to soften the floor of a garden, line a walkway between hedges, or cover a roof.

Progression Through the Variants

The hedge family moves through four stages: Budding, Blossoming, Flowering, and the fruiting Apple Oak stage. Each stage has both a hedge block and a leaf carpet. Budding Oak Hedge and Budding Oak Leaf Carpet are the earliest look; Blossoming Oak Hedge and Blossoming Oak Leaf Carpet add flowers; Flowering Oak Hedge and Flowering Oak Leaf Carpet are the fullest bloom; Apple Oak Hedge and Apple Oak Leaf Carpet are the mature, fruit-bearing form.
