How to Cook Baked Apple from Oak Hedges

Getting the Apple

Baked Apple is the food item in this mod, and it comes from the mature hedge stage. Grow or place Apple Oak Hedge, the fruiting variant of the hedge family. Harvest apples from the Apple Oak Hedge when it is ready, then carry them to a heat source.

If you are building an orchard, plant a full row of Apple Oak Hedge so you always have apples on hand. The earlier stages — Budding Oak Hedge, Blossoming Oak Hedge, and Flowering Oak Hedge — do not give you the fruit; only the Apple Oak stage does.

Cooking Methods

Baked Apple can be produced three ways, matching the cooking recipes in the mod:

• Furnace (smelting): Put an apple in the top slot and fuel in the bottom slot.
• Campfire (campfire_cooking): Place an apple on a lit campfire. Campfire cooking is slower than a furnace but needs no fuel beyond the campfire itself.
• Smoker (smoking): Put an apple in a smoker with fuel. Smoking is the fastest of the three for food.

Using Baked Apple

Baked Apple is a food item, so eat it to restore hunger. Keep a stack in your inventory for trips away from base. Because it comes from a renewable hedge, you can run a small orchard next to your kitchen and cook apples as you harvest them, cycling through furnace, campfire, or smoker depending on what is already lit.
