Laying Out the Stages

The hedge family has four growth stages, each with a hedge block and a matching leaf carpet:

1. Budding Oak Hedge / Budding Oak Leaf Carpet

2. Blossoming Oak Hedge / Blossoming Oak Leaf Carpet

3. Flowering Oak Hedge / Flowering Oak Leaf Carpet

4. Apple Oak Hedge / Apple Oak Leaf Carpet

Pick a straight line, an L-shape, or a ring for your garden. Place one stage per section so a visitor can walk from the buds to the fruit in order.

Mixing Hedges and Carpets

Use the hedge blocks for the vertical structure and the leaf carpets for the ground. For example, line the outer edge with Budding Oak Hedge, then lay Budding Oak Leaf Carpet on the path beside it. Repeat for Blossoming, Flowering, and Apple Oak. The carpets let you walk through the garden without climbing over full blocks, and they tie each stage to its own patch of ground.

Practical Tips

• Keep the Apple Oak section closest to your kitchen so harvesting apples for Baked Apple is quick.
• Use Flowering Oak Hedge and Flowering Oak Leaf Carpet as the visual centerpiece; the full bloom reads best in the middle of the garden.
• If you want a low-maintenance border, run a single stage of hedge around the whole plot and reserve the four-stage sequence for one feature wall.
• Leaf carpets can be placed over grass, dirt, or stone, so you do not need to dig up the ground before decorating.
