How to Use Framed Trim to Finish a Drawer Wall

Cover the gaps

Framed Trim is the block you use to hide the seams between drawers and make a storage wall look like one solid surface. Place Framed Trim along the edges of your Framed Drawer, Framed Drawers 1x2, Framed Drawers 2x2, Framed Half Drawer, Framed Half Drawers 1x2, Framed Half Drawers 2x2, and Framed Compacting Drawer blocks. Trim fills the spaces the drawers do not cover, so the wall reads as a single unit instead of separate boxes.

Match the surrounding build

Framed Trim takes on the appearance of the block you apply to it, so you can match it to the wall behind your drawers. Apply the same material you used for the rest of the room and the trim disappears into the design. This is useful when a drawer wall sits against a patterned floor or a colored wall.

Plan the layout first

Decide where each drawer goes before placing trim. Put the Framed Drawer Controller and Framed Controller Slave in a spot you can reach, then fill the remaining outline with Framed Trim. Leave the drawer faces exposed so you can still open them. Trim only covers the frame, not the storage face, so you keep full access to every drawer while the wall stays clean.
