How to Store Items in a Framed Compacting Drawer

Understand the three slots

The Framed Compacting Drawer holds one item type in three compacted forms at once. A single drawer stores the base item, its compressed block form, and the next tier up, all in the same block. Insert the base item and the drawer automatically tracks how many you have across all three forms.

Insert and extract

Right-click the Framed Compacting Drawer with a stack to insert it. The drawer fills the base slot first. When you have enough base items to make a compressed block, the drawer shows that count in the block slot. Left-click to pull items back out; the drawer returns them in the form you select. This lets you carry a full stack of blocks while the drawer still counts the individual items inside them.

Fit it into a wall

Place the Framed Compacting Drawer alongside Framed Drawer, Framed Drawers 1x2, Framed Drawers 2x2, Framed Half Drawer, Framed Half Drawers 1x2, and Framed Half Drawers 2x2 blocks so the faces line up. Use Framed Trim on the edges to blend the drawer into your build. Connect the drawer to a Framed Drawer Controller with a Framed Controller Slave if you want to manage it from one point.
