How to Choose Between Full and Half Framed Drawers

Full-size drawers

Framed Drawer holds one item type in a single full block. Framed Drawers 1x2 holds two item types stacked in one block face. Framed Drawers 2x2 holds four item types in a grid. These are the blocks to use when you want maximum storage per block and do not mind a larger face.

Half-size drawers

Framed Half Drawer, Framed Half Drawers 1x2, and Framed Half Drawers 2x2 store the same number of item types as their full-size counterparts but take up half the height. Use them when you want a low drawer row, a shelf under a window, or a compact strip along a wall. The half variants pair naturally with full drawers in the same wall.

Mix them in one wall

Place full and half drawers together and finish the edges with Framed Trim. A common layout is a row of Framed Drawers 2x2 for bulk items, a row of Framed Half Drawers 2x2 below for smaller categories, and Framed Compacting Drawer blocks wherever you need compacted storage. Link the whole wall to a Framed Drawer Controller using Framed Controller Slaves so you can move items in and out from one block.
