Making Bone Armor and Ancient Weapons

Bone Armor

Craft Bone Helmet, Bone Chestplate, Bone Leggings, and Bone Boots at a crafting table using bones from fossil processing. The recipes follow the standard armor shapes (helmet: 5 bones, chestplate: 8, leggings: 7, boots: 4). Wear the full set for protection while excavating in hostile caves.

Ancient Sword and Javelin

Craft an Ancient Sword from Ancient Stone Bricks and a stick, or from Ancient Wood Planks and an ingot substitute available in your pack. Craft an Ancient Javelin similarly — it is a throwable weapon useful against hostile mobs guarding fossil sites. Both use crafting_shaped recipes.

Ancient Helmet and Broken Variants

Craft an Ancient Helmet from Ancient Stone Bricks. A Broken Ancient Helmet and Broken Ancient Sword are damaged variants found in Ancient Chest loot. Repair them at an anvil using Ancient Stone Bricks or the matching material.

Ancient Key and Ancient Chest

Ancient Key opens Ancient Chest. Find Ancient Chest in dungeon loot and use the key to unlock it. Inside you will find fossils, pottery such as Black Amphora or Blue Kylix, and occasionally an Ancient Clock or Ancient Helmet. Stockpile keys before exploring ruins.

Enchanting and Upkeep

Enchant your Ancient Sword and Bone Armor at an enchanting table. Unbreaking and Protection are the priority enchants. Carry spare Bone Boots — they wear out quickly in long excavation trips.
