How to Tame a Spinosaurus

Hatch and Raise First

Spinosaurus begins as an %s Egg produced in the Culture Vat from a %s Tooth or %s Claw fossil. Hatch the egg in a fenced enclosure built from Calamites Fence or Cordaites Fence. Feed the juvenile raw fish — Bucket of Sturgeon, Bucket of Alligator Gar, or Bucket of Coelacanth all work as food sources once released from their buckets.

Taming

Once the Spinosaurus reaches adulthood, approach it with food in hand. Feed it repeatedly until hearts appear. Do not attack it during this process — one hit resets progress. Keep a stack of raw fish ready; taming takes many feedings. When tamed, the Spinosaurus will follow you and can be ridden with a saddle.

Housing and Feeding an Adult

An adult Spinosaurus is large. Build a pen at least 15x15 blocks with Calamites Fence or Ancient Stone Wall. Provide a water pool — Spinosaurus is semi-aquatic and will seek water. Stock the pool with Bucket of Sturgeon or Bucket of Coelacanth released into it so the creature can feed itself.

Breeding

Feed two tamed adult Spinosaurus to trigger breeding. The female produces an %s Egg. Collect the egg and place it in a safe incubator pen. Repeat the hatch-and-raise cycle to build a population.
