Getting an Egg

You need an %s Egg, which comes from the Culture Vat. Feed the vat an identified fossil (such as %s Tooth or %s Claw) plus Bio Goo. The vat outputs the egg for that species. Do not skip the Analyzer step — unidentified Bio Fossil will not work in the Culture Vat.

Incubating the Egg

Place the %s Egg on the ground in a warm, safe area. Keep it away from water and hostile mobs. The egg hatches on its own over time. Once it hatches, a baby creature appears. Babies are fragile — fence the area with Calamites Fence or Cordaites Fence before hatching so the juvenile cannot wander off.

Feeding and Raising

Baby creatures eat the appropriate food item for their species. Keep a steady supply nearby. As the creature grows, it will accept a saddle or taming item depending on species. For most carnivores, feed raw meat; for herbivores, feed leaves or seeds such as Bennettitales Seeds or Ancient Fern Spores where applicable.

Common Mistakes

Do not place eggs on slabs or stairs — they need a full block. Do not leave eggs in unlit caves; light the area with torches or Ancient Glass windows. If an egg disappears, a hostile mob likely destroyed it. Rebuild your enclosure with Ancient Stone Bricks or Calamites Wood Planks for durability.
