Balance Graphics Settings for Your Hardware
Choose Your Profile
Focal Shaders typically offers preset profiles: low, medium, and high. Start with a profile matching your system's capabilities. Low profiles disable advanced features like reflections and complex shadows; high profiles enable everything.
Monitor Frame Rate
Load into your world and observe your FPS. Aim for stable, consistent frame rates. If you drop below your target, lower the profile or disable individual features.
Disable Expensive Features Selectively
If a specific profile is slightly too demanding, keep it but disable the most performance-heavy features individually: reflections, shadow distance, or PBR material detail. This gives you finer control than switching profiles.
Test in Varied Environments
Frame rate often varies between open sky, dense forests, and underground caves. Test in multiple locations to ensure consistent performance across your world.
Adjust Render Distance Alongside Shaders
Shaders interact with render distance. If performance is poor, reducing render distance (in video settings) often helps more than lowering shader quality alone. Find the combination that works for your hardware.
Save Your Configuration
Once stable, your settings are automatically saved and will apply each session.
