Understanding What Gets Flattened and What Stays

How the Flattening Works

Floor IT Shaders divides your world into two categories: regular blocks and block entities. Regular blocks—dirt, stone, grass, wood, sand, and most building materials—are compressed down and merged into a flat floor layer. This creates the signature squashed, potato-like appearance.

What Remains Standing

Block entities are preserved in their normal positions. These include:

  • Chests, furnaces, and other containers
  • Beds and doors
  • Redstone components like repeaters and comparators
  • Decorative blocks like item frames and armor stands
  • Enchanting tables, brewing stands, and similar functional blocks

This means your base structures, machines, and decorations will still be visible and functional, floating above the flattened terrain. The contrast between the squashed landscape and standing block entities creates the distinctive cursed visual style the pack is known for.

Practical Implication

When building or exploring, remember that terrain navigation changes significantly—you're walking on a compressed floor rather than varied elevation. However, your contraptions and structures remain fully operational.
