Navigating and Exploring Flattened Terrain
Terrain Navigation Changes
With all regular blocks compressed into a single floor layer, exploration feels fundamentally different. Mountains, valleys, and caves are gone—replaced by a flat, uniform surface.
Finding Your Way
Use block entities as landmarks: Standing structures like doors, chests, and decorative blocks become your navigation markers. Tall block entity structures are visible from far away and help you orient yourself.
Watch for visual clues: Floating trees (if made from wood block entities) or standing structures indicate player bases or points of interest.
Coordinate tracking: Without terrain variation, coordinates become more important. Use them liberally to mark bases and resources.
Resource Gathering
Mining is affected since ore blocks are flattened. You'll need to:
- Dig down through the compressed floor layer to access resources
- Look for standing block entities that might indicate player-built storage or bases
- Rely on crafting and trading rather than traditional mining
Movement
Travel is faster on flat ground, but monotonous. Consider building pathways using block entities to create visual interest and clear routes between bases.
