How to Make Rotten Leather in FleshZ

Getting Prepared Hide First

Rotten Leather is the end product of a two-step chain, and the first step is Prepared Hide. You need a Wood Rack before anything else, because the rack is what turns raw drops into Prepared Hide.

Pick any wood type you have on hand — Oak Wood Rack, Spruce Wood Rack, Birch Wood Rack, Jungle Wood Rack, Acacia Wood Rack, Dark Oak Wood Rack, Mangrove Wood Rack, Cherry Wood Rack, Bamboo Wood Rack, Crimson Wood Rack, or Warped Wood Rack all exist as separate blocks. Craft the rack you want, then place it.

Turning Hide into Rotten Leather

Once your Wood Rack is placed, put your hide-type material onto it. The rack processes it into Prepared Hide. Collect the Prepared Hide when it is done.

Prepared Hide is a distinct registry item, so it does not stack with ordinary leather and will not be accepted by vanilla leather recipes. Keep it separate in your storage.

From Prepared Hide, continue the chain to reach Rotten Leather. Rotten Leather is the final registry item in this line and is what you want for any recipe that calls for it specifically. Because the mod registers Prepared Hide and Rotten Leather as their own items, check each recipe's ingredient slot carefully — substituting vanilla leather for either one will not work. Build the rack first, run your hides through it, then convert the Prepared Hide output into Rotten Leather.
