How to Craft Cooked Catfish and Cooked Gar

Smelting the Raw Fish

Cooked Catfish and Cooked Gar are the two smelting outputs in this mod. Both come from a furnace, and both use the standard smelting recipe type. Place your raw fish in the top slot of a furnace and add fuel in the bottom slot, exactly as you would smelt ore or cook any other food.

• Raw Catfish smelts into Cooked Catfish.
• Raw Gar smelts into Cooked Gar.

You do not need a special furnace or a custom station. A plain furnace works. If you have a blast furnace or smoker, use the smoker for faster results since these are food items.

Using the Cooked Results

Cooked Catfish and Cooked Gar are the edible end products of the smelting chain. Keep a stack of fuel on hand so you can process a full inventory of raw catches in one session. Because smelting is the only processing recipe type besides crafting, any raw fish you do not want to display as a plaque should go straight into the furnace.

If you are building a fishing base, set up a furnace line next to your water source so you can move catches directly from rod to smelter without walking back to a main base. Cooked Catfish and Cooked Gar stack like normal food, so store them in a chest near your fishing spot for quick access.
