How to Get and Use Earthworms and Grubs

Earthworms and Grubs are the bait items of the mod. They are used to catch fish, so keep a steady supply on hand before you head out.

Collecting Bait

Break grass and foliage around your base to gather Earthworms and Grubs. Collect them into a stack before fishing so you are not caught empty-handed mid-session.

Fishing With Bait

Hold your bait and fish as normal. Bait is consumed as you catch fish, so top up between trips. If you plan a long session, bring a full stack of Earthworms or Grubs.

Turning Catch Into Food

Every fish you land has a cooked form: Cooked Ancientscale, Cooked Battlegill, Cooked Devilfish, Cooked Islehopper, Cooked Plentifin, Cooked Pondie, Cooked Splashtail, Cooked Stormfish, Cooked Wildsplash, and Cooked Wrecker. Cook raw fish in a furnace, smoker, or on a campfire.

Practical Tips

• A smoker cooks fish fastest; a campfire works when you are away from base.
• Cook your catch before storing it so it stacks as ready-to-eat food.
• Keep bait in your offhand slot so it is always ready when you cast.
