Cooking Fish: Smelting, Smoking, and Campfires

Every raw fish in the mod has a cooked counterpart. The cooked items are Cooked Ancientscale, Cooked Battlegill, Cooked Devilfish, Cooked Islehopper, Cooked Plentifin, Cooked Pondie, Cooked Splashtail, Cooked Stormfish, Cooked Wildsplash, and Cooked Wrecker.

Three Cooking Methods

You can cook any of these fish three ways: smelting in a Furnace, smoking in a Smoker, or campfire_cooking on a Campfire. All three recipe types are present for all ten fish, so you are never locked out of cooking just because you lack a specific station.

Which Method to Use

Use a Smoker when you want the fastest results, since smoking processes food quicker than a furnace. Use a Campfire when you are cooking outdoors or away from your base and do not want to carry fuel. Use a Furnace when you already have one running for ore or other smelting jobs and want to batch fish alongside it.

Stocking Up

Cook in bulk. Load a stack of raw fish into a Smoker or Furnace and let it run while you fish for more. Cooked fish stack, so a single session can fill a chest with food for long trips.
