Catch Your First Fish

Craft a fishing rod and fish in any water source. You will pull up creatures such as Flatback Sucker, Banded Redback Shrimp, Blu Wee, Pea Wee, Wee Wee, Vibra Wee, Papa Wee, High-finned Blue, Teal Arrowfish, Ornate Bugfish, Golden River Ray, Night Light Squid, Phantom Nudibranch, Penglil, Gopjet, Swamp Mucker, Red Bull Crab, White Bull Crab, Spindly Gem Crab, and Flatback Leaf Snail. Each has a matching Spawn Egg if you prefer to place them directly.

Right-click a caught creature with a Bucket to obtain its bucket form, such as Bucket of Flatback Sucker or Bucket of Blu Wee. Buckets let you carry live creatures between water bodies.

Turn Catches Into Materials

Cook raw catches in a Furnace, Smoker, or on a Campfire to get Cooked Banded Redback Shrimp, Cooked Bugfish Meat, Cooked Bull Crab Claw, Cooked Luminous Calamari, Cooked Papa Wee, and Cooked Wherble Fin. Raw drops include Bugfish Meat, Bugfish Mandibles, Night Light Squid Tentacle, Golden River Ray Wing Fillet, Flatback Shell, Pebble Shell, Horatee Hide, and Mudhorse Leather.

Combine Bugfish Meat with other ingredients in a Crab Cruncher to produce Crab Sandwich. Save Bugfish Mandibles and Flatback Shell — they feed into later crafting and building recipes.
