Build the Crab Cruncher

Craft the Crab Cruncher block using a shaped recipe from your gathered materials. Once placed, it acts as the mod's crunching station. The crunching recipe type (finsandtails:crunching) is used for eleven recipes, so the Crab Cruncher is the central processing block for turning raw catches into finished food and components.

What to Crunch

Feed the Crab Cruncher raw ingredients such as Bugfish Meat, Bugfish Mandibles, Flatback Shell, and Pebble Shell. Its signature output is Crab Sandwich, which combines Bugfish Meat with other catch-derived items. Other crunching outputs use the same station, so keep a stock of raw catches on hand.

Place the Crab Cruncher near your kitchen or fishing dock. Because crunching is a distinct recipe type from crafting, smelting, smoking, and campfire cooking, you cannot substitute a Furnace or Crafting Table for it. If a recipe will not craft anywhere else, try the Crab Cruncher first.

Pair it with a Furnace for the eight smelting recipes and a Smoker for the eight smoking recipes so you can process every catch efficiently. Cooked outputs like Cooked Bugfish Meat and Cooked Bull Crab Claw come from heat, while crunching handles the composite foods.
