Reduce Lag When Exploring New Terrain
Understand Chunk Loading
Lag during exploration often comes from your computer rendering newly generated chunks, not the shader itself. FeatherLight LOW END is lightweight, but terrain generation still demands resources.
Adjust Render Distance
Lower your render distance in Video Settings. Start at 8 chunks and increase gradually until you notice stuttering. This is the sweet spot for your hardware.
Disable Unnecessary Features
In Shader Options, turn off:
- Advanced water reflections
- Shadow rendering (if enabled)
- Ambient occlusion
These features can stutter when combined with chunk loading.
Manage World Settings
- Avoid exploring with many mobs nearby
- Close other applications to free RAM
- Use a superflat or pre-generated world for testing
Verify Smooth Gameplay
Explore a new area and watch your FPS counter. Smooth exploration should feel consistent without sudden dips. If stuttering persists, lower render distance further.
