Optimize Frame Rate on Very Old or Weak Computers
Check Current Performance
Press F3 (or your debug key) to display FPS. If you're dropping below 60 FPS, optimization is needed.
Reduce Shader Detail
Enter Shader Options and look for settings like:
- Shadow quality or shadow distance (lower = faster)
- Ambient occlusion or contact shadows (disable if needed)
- Reflection or water quality settings
Disabling or lowering these has the biggest impact on frame rate.
Lower Minecraft's Base Settings
Even with FeatherLight LOW END, your base game settings matter:
- Reduce render distance to 8–12 chunks
- Lower particle effects
- Disable fancy graphics; use fast instead
- Reduce entity shadows
Monitor Results
After each change, spend a minute exploring to confirm FPS improvement. FeatherLight is built for low-end systems, so you should see smooth performance once base settings are tuned.
