Speed Up Massive Edits by Skipping Logging

Using Fast Mode for Performance

When performing enormous edits where you don't need to preserve a detailed change history, the //fast command bypasses the logging system entirely. This significantly accelerates block placement and reduces memory usage.

Steps:

1. Before starting your massive edit, type //fast to enable fast mode

2. Perform your world edits normally using any commands or tools

3. Blocks are placed without being logged to the history system

4. Type //fast again to toggle fast mode off when you're done

When to Use Fast Mode

Fast mode is ideal for:

  • Generating terrain across thousands of blocks
  • Filling enormous areas with a single block type
  • Bulk operations where you won't need to undo individual changes

Important: Once you use //fast, those edits cannot be undone with //undo. Only use this mode when you're confident in your edits and don't need the safety net of undo history. Regular mode is recommended for most building work.
