How to Set Up a Cooking Pot and Start Cooking

Build the Cooking Pot

Place a Cooking Pot on top of a lit heat source (campfire, furnace, or similar). Right-click the Cooking Pot to open its interface. It holds up to six ingredient slots and one output slot, plus a container slot for bowls or bottles.

Cook a Basic Meal

Add ingredients to the slots and the pot cooks automatically while heated. Use these known recipes as starting points:

  • Beef Stew: raw beef plus vegetables, served in a Bowl.
  • Chicken Soup: raw chicken plus vegetables, served in a Bowl.
  • Fish Stew: raw cod or salmon plus vegetables, served in a Bowl.
  • Bone Broth: bones plus water, served in a Bowl.
  • Vegetable Soup: mixed vegetables in a Bowl.
  • Fried Rice: Cooked Rice plus an egg and vegetables.
  • Dumplings: dough plus a filling, served in a Bowl.
  • Hot Cocoa: cocoa plus milk in a Bottle or Bucket.

Collect and Serve

When cooking finishes, the result sits in the output slot. Right-click to take it. If the recipe needs a Bowl, keep Bowls in the container slot so the pot fills them automatically. Cooked meals restore more hunger than their raw parts and many leave behind a Bowl you can reuse. Keep a stack of Bowls in your inventory before starting a batch so you can pull finished meals without stopping.
