Getting Started with Power Generation
Building Your First Power Network
Start by harvesting rubber from trees using a treetap, then smelt the resin into rubber. Combine rubber with copper to craft insulated power cables—these are essential for safe power distribution.
Build a basic generator (solar, wind, geothermal, or combustion) and connect it to your first machines using Low voltage cables. As you progress to higher voltage tiers, always place a transformer between your power source and machines to step voltage down appropriately. Connecting a machine to voltage it cannot handle will cause it to explode.
Store excess power in battery boxes to keep your network stable during low generation periods. Once your infrastructure grows, use circuit breakers to instantly cut power to sections of your base when needed.
