Using the Fairy Lights Mod Blocks in Your Build

What You Have to Work With

The mod gives you four registry items: Candle Lantern, Incandescent Light, Oil Lantern, and Vine Garland. Three of them — Candle Lantern, Incandescent Light, and Oil Lantern — are blocks that light up a space. Vine Garland is the decorative piece. Every one of them is obtained through a shaped crafting recipe, so your first step in any build is always the crafting table.

Placing Lights

Once you have crafted your lights, treat them like any other block. Select the block in your hotbar and place it against a solid surface. The Candle Lantern suits tables, ledges, and floor corners. The Incandescent Light works well on ceilings and walls where you want a bright, exposed source. The Oil Lantern reads as a hanging lamp, so place it high or under overhangs. Vine Garland is for dressing walls, fences, and archways where you want decoration without a lamp look.

Planning a Lit Build

Decide the mood first, then pick blocks. Warm and cozy: Candle Lantern plus Vine Garland. Bright and functional: Incandescent Light spaced evenly across a ceiling. Rustic: Oil Lanterns along a path or porch. Because each light is its own block, you can combine them freely in one room.

If Something Will Not Craft

Shaped recipes fail silently when the pattern is wrong. Clear the grid, re-place ingredients one stack at a time, and confirm the result slot before removing anything. That resolves the vast majority of crafting problems.
