How to Craft a Candle Lantern in the Fairy Lights Mod

Gather the Ingredients

The Candle Lantern is one of three light-emitting blocks in the mod, alongside the Incandescent Light and the Oil Lantern. All four registry items — Candle Lantern, Incandescent Light, Oil Lantern, and Vine Garland — are produced through shaped crafting recipes. That means you arrange ingredients in a specific pattern on the crafting grid rather than tossing them in randomly.

Before you start, decide which light block you actually want. The Candle Lantern is the warm, handheld-style option. If you want a bare glowing bulb look, aim for the Incandescent Light instead. If you want a hanging lamp, go for the Oil Lantern.

Crafting the Candle Lantern

Open your crafting table and place the ingredients in the shaped pattern the recipe calls for. Because this is a shaped recipe, the relative positions of the items matter — shifting a stack one slot over will produce nothing. Once the pattern is correct, the Candle Lantern appears in the result slot. Take it out and place it like any normal block.

If the recipe will not resolve, empty the grid completely and re-place each ingredient one at a time, checking the pattern as you go. A single misplaced stack is the most common reason a shaped recipe fails.

Using It

Place the Candle Lantern on a solid surface or hang it where the block supports placement. It emits light and works as a decorative fixture. Craft extras if you are lighting a large build — one lantern per spot is the standard approach.
