How the Recipes Work

Every item in the mod — Candle Lantern, Incandescent Light, Oil Lantern, and Vine Garland — is made with a shaped crafting recipe. Shaped means the position of each ingredient in the crafting grid matters. The recipe only produces its output when the ingredients sit in the exact arrangement it expects. There is no furnace step, no smelting, and no other processing type in the mod; everything happens on the crafting grid.

Fixing a Recipe That Will Not Craft

If you place ingredients and nothing appears in the result slot, work through these checks in order:

1. Clear the entire crafting grid, including any leftover stacks in corners.

2. Confirm you are using a crafting table, not the 2x2 inventory grid, if the pattern is larger than two by two.

3. Re-place each ingredient one stack at a time, watching the result slot after each placement.

4. Check that you have not swapped one light's ingredients for another's — the Candle Lantern, Incandescent Light, and Oil Lantern each have their own recipe.

5. Make sure you are not short a stack; a partially filled slot still counts as a placement, but a missing ingredient breaks the pattern.

Confirming You Have the Right Item

After crafting, check the item name in your inventory. The four valid names are Candle Lantern, Incandescent Light, Oil Lantern, and Vine Garland. If you expected a light block and got Vine Garland, you built the decorative recipe instead. Rebuild the grid with the lamp's pattern.
