How to Connect Machines with Pipe and Rigid Pipe
Choosing the Right Pipe
Use Pipe for flexible runs that can turn corners and route around obstacles. Use Rigid Pipe when you want a straight, fixed line that holds its shape between two points. Both connect to each other, so you can mix them in one network: run Rigid Pipe along a wall, then switch to Pipe where the line needs to bend.
Laying a Working Line
1. Place your source block or machine at one end.
2. Place Pipe or Rigid Pipe block by block from the source toward the destination.
3. Place the destination block or machine at the far end so it touches the last pipe.
4. Right-click the run with the Pipe Probe to check that the pipes are connected and carrying what you expect.
If a segment refuses to link, break and replace that single pipe block so it re-reads its neighbours. Keep runs short and direct; long detours through Pipe still work but are harder to inspect with the Pipe Probe.
Colouring for Organisation
Once a line works, replace plain Pipe with a coloured variant such as Red Stained Pipe, Blue Stained Pipe, or Green Stained Pipe to mark what it carries. Stained pipes behave like normal pipe but let you tell lines apart at a glance, which matters once several runs cross the same area.
