How to Build a Turbine

Housing and Rotor

Build a hollow frame from Turbine Housing (Basic) with Turbine Glass (Basic) for viewing. The interior must be a clear cylindrical or rectangular void. Place one Turbine Rotor Bearing (Basic) on the casing as the anchor point. From the bearing, extend a line of Turbine Rotor Shaft (Basic) blocks into the interior. Attach Turbine Rotor Blade (Basic) blocks to the shaft. Blades must be placed on the shaft and must not touch the housing walls.

Controller and Ports

Place a Turbine Controller (Basic) on the housing. Add a Turbine Active Forge Fluid Port (Basic) to input steam and a Turbine Passive Forge Fluid Port (Basic) to output spent fluid. Add a Turbine Passive Forge Energy Power Tap (Basic) or Turbine Active Forge Energy Power Tap (Basic) to extract Forge Energy. Right-click the Turbine Controller to verify the turbine formed.

Operation

Feed steam into the fluid port. The rotor spins and the power tap produces Forge Energy. Rotor speed depends on steam flow and blade count. If the rotor does not spin, check that the shaft is continuous from the bearing and that blades are attached to the shaft. Use the Turbine Controller to read RPM and energy output.
