How to Build a Basic Reactor

Frame and Interior

Build a hollow rectangular frame from Reactor Casing (Basic). Every face of the frame must be sealed with casing or Reactor Glass (Basic). Inside the frame, place a column of Reactor Fuel Rod (Basic) blocks standing vertically. Each fuel rod column must touch the top and bottom casing. Leave the space around the fuel rods empty so coolant can flow.

Controller and Ports

Place one Reactor Controller (Basic) on the casing. Place at least one Reactor Solid Access Port (Basic) on the casing to insert fuel. Place at least one Reactor Passive Forge Energy Power Tap (Basic) to extract power, or a Reactor Active Forge Energy Power Tap (Basic) if you want power pushed out. Right-click the Reactor Controller to open the interface and confirm the reactor formed. Insert Yellorium or Raw Yellorium into the Reactor Solid Access Port. The reactor consumes fuel and produces Forge Energy through the power tap.

Control Rods

Replace the top casing block above each fuel rod column with a Reactor Control Rod (Basic). Control rods let you throttle the reaction. Lower insertion reduces output and fuel burn; raise it for more power. Use the Reactor Controller to set insertion percentage. Without control rods the reactor runs at full burn whenever fueled.
