How to Automate Reactor Control with Redstone and Computers

Redstone Port

Place a Reactor Redstone Port (Basic) or Reactor Redstone Port (Reinforced) on your reactor casing. Right-click the port to open its configuration. Set the port to accept a redstone signal that controls reactor on/off, control rod insertion, or fuel injection. Wire a redstone signal from a lever or redstone circuit into the port. Use this to shut the reactor down automatically when your energy buffer is full.

Computer Port

Place a Reactor Computer Port (Reinforced) on the casing. Connect a computer to the port. The port exposes reactor data such as energy output, fuel level, and control rod position. Write a program on the computer to read these values and adjust control rod insertion through the port. This lets you throttle the reactor based on demand instead of running at full burn.

Turbine and Energizer Control

Turbine Computer Port (Reinforced) and Energizer Computer Port work the same way on their multiblocks. Use them to read RPM, energy stored, and flow rates. Combine a Reactor Redstone Port with an Energizer to cut reactor output when the Energizer is full. Combine a Turbine Computer Port with a Reactor Computer Port to balance steam production against turbine load.
