Cooking Mushrooms: Grilled Mushroom and Mushroom Bread

Grilled Mushroom

Grilled Mushroom is a cooked food item. You can obtain it three ways: smelting, smoking, or campfire cooking a raw mushroom. Use a furnace for smelting, a smoker for faster results, or a campfire for cooking without fuel.

Mushroom Bread

Mushroom Bread is a separate food item crafted from mushroom materials at a crafting table. It is a shaped or shapeless recipe using mushroom blocks or Mushroom Spores. Keep a stack in your inventory for long trips.

Gathering the Ingredients

Harvest Glowshroom, Honey Fungus, Poisonous Mushroom, and classic Mushroom blocks from the world. Break them with any tool to collect the block, then bring them back to your base for cooking and crafting.

Other Edible and Crafting Materials

Honey Blob and Slime Blob are mob-drop-style ingredients used in mushroom recipes. Honeycomb Shred and Glowstone Crumbs are also crafting inputs. Mushroom Spores are used in mushroom crafting recipes. Collect all of these while exploring so you can craft food and decorative items without returning to the wild.

Cooking Setup

Build a furnace, a smoker, and a campfire near your mushroom farm. Smelt or smoke raw mushrooms into Grilled Mushroom, and craft Mushroom Bread at a crafting table. Store finished food in a chest next to the cooking station.
