Placing Your First Ring

Choose a flat area at least five blocks wide. Place Mushroom Blocks in a circle seven blocks in diameter, leaving the center empty. Fill the center with a single Fairy Ring Core. Stand on the core and wait for the particle effect. Once the particles appear, the ring is active. Step off and back on to teleport. If nothing happens, break and replace the core — it may have been placed on an invalid block such as water or lava.

Linking Multiple Rings

Each Fairy Ring Core links to the nearest active ring in the same dimension. To create a network, build a second ring at least 32 blocks away from the first. Place a core in its center. Now stepping into either ring will send you to the other. If you build a third ring, it will link to the closest existing ring, forming a chain. To avoid unwanted links, space rings more than 64 blocks apart. Cores are consumed each time you teleport, so carry spare cores and replace them after each trip. You can also place a core in the Nether to create a shortcut between dimensions, but you must build a ring in the Nether first using Mushroom Blocks and a core.
