How to Use the Ex Compressum Sieve

Sieving Basics

Place a Heavy Oak Sieve, Heavy Spruce Sieve, Heavy Birch Sieve, Heavy Jungle Sieve, Heavy Acacia Sieve, Heavy Dark Oak Sieve, Heavy Mangrove Sieve, Heavy Cherry Sieve, Heavy Crimson Sieve, or Heavy Warped Sieve on the ground. Each variant matches its wood type, so pick whichever plank family you have on hand. Right-click the sieve with the material you want to process. Compressed Gravel, Compressed Sand, Compressed Dirt, Compressed Dust, and Compressed Soul Sand are the compressed inputs you feed into sieves to break them down.

What You Get

Sieving compressed blocks yields the uncompressed resources you need for further crafting. Compressed Gravel breaks into Flint and other gravel drops. Compressed Sand produces Sand. Compressed Dirt gives Dirt. Compressed Dust and Compressed Soul Sand return their loose forms. Keep a stack of each compressed block ready so you can chain sieving without stopping.

Mesh and Automation

Iron Mesh is the mesh item used with sieves to enable finer sifting. Combine Iron Mesh with a sieve when you want to upgrade its output. Once you have enough materials, build an Auto Sieve or Auto Heavy Sieve to run the same process without manual right-clicking. Feed compressed blocks in and collect the results from the output side. The Auto Sieve handles standard sieving; the Auto Heavy Sieve handles the heavy variant. Both accept the same compressed inputs as their manual counterparts.
