How to Use the Auto Sieve in Ex Compressum

Placing and Powering

Craft an Auto Sieve and place it where you want your processing line to run. The Auto Sieve automates the sieving action performed by Heavy Oak Sieve and its wood variants. Provide it with compressed blocks — Compressed Gravel, Compressed Sand, Compressed Dirt, Compressed Dust, or Compressed Soul Sand — through its input. The Auto Sieve processes them and outputs the loose materials on the other side.

Auto Heavy Sieve

The Auto Heavy Sieve is the heavier-duty version. Use it when you are processing large volumes of compressed blocks and want faster throughput. Both machines accept the same compressed inputs, so you can split your production between them depending on demand. Pipe or hopper the compressed blocks in, and route the outputs into chests or further processing.

Fitting It Into a Line

Pair the Auto Sieve with an Auto Compressor or Auto Compressor (Rationing) upstream. The Auto Compressor turns loose materials into compressed blocks; the Auto Sieve turns them back into loose materials with different drops. The Auto Compressor (Rationing) version limits how much it compresses, which is useful when you want a steady trickle rather than a full stack. Downstream, feed outputs into Auto Hammer, Auto Compressed Hammer, or Ore Smasher for further refinement. Iron Mesh is used to upgrade sieve capability, so craft it before scaling up.
