How to Set Up an Auto Sieve Line with Ex Compressum

Build the sieving chain

Place an Auto Sieve where you want materials to come out. Feed it with a hopper or pipe from above, and pull results from the bottom or sides into your storage. The Auto Sieve processes the same inputs a manual sieve would, so stock it with Compressed Gravel, Compressed Sand, or Compressed Dust depending on what you want to sift.

If you need heavier yields, use the Auto Heavy Sieve instead. It accepts the same compressed inputs but is the block to place when you want the heavy sieve results. Pair it with an Iron Mesh in your supply chain — craft meshes first, then keep them stocked so the sieve never stalls.

Compress inputs automatically

Raw materials must be compressed before sieving. Place an Auto Compressor and feed it loose items such as gravel, sand, or dust. It outputs the matching Compressed Gravel, Compressed Sand, or Compressed Dust block. Route that output straight into your Auto Sieve or Auto Heavy Sieve.

If you want to limit how much the compressor consumes, use the Auto Compressor (Rationing) variant. It behaves like the Auto Compressor but only processes a set amount, which is useful when you want to keep some raw material in reserve.

Automate hammers too

For crushing steps, place an Auto Hammer and feed it the compressed blocks. For higher-tier crushing, use the Auto Compressed Hammer, which works on compressed inputs directly. Chain Auto Compressor → Auto Compressed Hammer → Auto Sieve to turn raw stone, gravel, or dust into sifted outputs without manual work.
