How to Craft and Use the Compressed Hammers

Pick the right hammer

Compressed hammers are the hand tools for breaking compressed blocks into crushed material. The set includes Compressed Wooden Hammer, Compressed Stone Hammer, Compressed Iron Hammer, Compressed Golden Hammer, Compressed Diamond Hammer, and Compressed Netherite Hammer. Higher-tier hammers last longer and work faster, so upgrade as your materials allow.

Each hammer is crafted from its base material plus compressed blocks. The wooden and stone hammers are the entry point; iron, gold, diamond, and netherite follow the same pattern with their respective materials. If you are unsure of an exact grid, gather the base material and the compressed block it corresponds to and check the recipe in your crafting interface.

Hammer compressed blocks by hand

Hold the hammer and use it on a compressed block. Compressed Cobblestone breaks into crushed cobblestone, Compressed Andesite into Compressed Crushed Andesite, Compressed Diorite into Compressed Crushed Diorite, Compressed Granite into Compressed Crushed Granite, Compressed Netherrack into Compressed Crushed Netherrack, and Compressed End Stone into Compressed Crushed End Stone.

For bulk work, switch to the Auto Compressed Hammer, which performs the same conversion without you swinging the tool. Use the hand hammers for small batches and spot conversions, and let the automated version handle continuous production.
