Placing a Crucible

Crucibles come in every wood type: Oak Crucible, Spruce Crucible, Birch Crucible, Jungle Crucible, Acacia Crucible, Dark Oak Crucible, Mangrove Crucible, Cherry Crucible, Crimson Crucible, and Warped Crucible. Place one on the ground and fill it with the material you want to process. Crucibles are used to convert wood and organic matter into useful byproducts.

Wood Chippings

Wood Chippings are the item produced when wood is broken down in a crucible. Feed logs or planks into a crucible to generate Wood Chippings, then collect them for further crafting. Wood Chippings are a crafting ingredient in several recipes, so keep a stock on hand. Pair crucible output with Uncompressed Coal when you need fuel-adjacent materials.

Combining With Other Machines

Crucibles work alongside the compression line. Run wood through a crucible to get Wood Chippings, then use those chippings in crafting recipes that need them. If you are producing Compressed Dirt or Compressed Sand, keep a crucible nearby so you can process the wood byproducts that come with your tree farm.
