Adjust Water Reflection Intensity

Access Shader Settings

Open the shader options menu by pressing Right Shift (default) while in-game, then navigate to Shader Options. Look for the Water section in the settings panel.

Configure Reflection Quality

Locate the water reflection settings. You'll find sliders controlling:

  • Reflection Strength — increases or decreases how much the sky and surroundings mirror on water surfaces
  • Reflection Detail — adjusts clarity and smoothness of reflections on oceans and rivers

Lower values create subtle, calm water. Higher values make reflections more pronounced and realistic, especially noticeable during sunrise and sunset.

Fine-Tune for Your Preference

Adjust these sliders while standing near water to see changes in real-time. If reflections feel too bright or distracting, reduce the strength. For a more immersive, mirror-like ocean effect, increase both settings.

These changes apply immediately across all water blocks in your world. Test in different lighting conditions—bright daylight, shade, and night—to ensure the reflection balance feels right for your gameplay style.
