Enhance Underwater and Cave Lighting
Adjust Water Fog and Lighting
Open shader settings and locate water-related options. Increase water brightness or reduce water fog density if underwater areas feel too murky. The shader should still maintain realism while keeping caves and deep water navigable.
Configure Cave Ambient Light
Look for ambient light or global illumination settings. Slightly increase ambient light in caves to make exploration easier without removing shadows entirely. This creates a balance between atmosphere and visibility.
Use Torches Effectively
Place torches strategically to see how the shader handles point light sources. Realistic lighting means torchlight should cast soft shadows and illuminate nearby blocks naturally. If caves still feel too dark after adjustments, increase torch brightness multiplier if available.
Test Different Depths
Visit caves at various depths and underwater areas at different heights. The shader's soft lighting should adapt naturally. If certain areas remain too dark or too bright, make incremental adjustments to avoid over-brightening your world. Remember that the shader prioritizes smooth performance, so some visual compromises may be necessary on lower-end systems.
