Dungeons spawn across your world based on biome type, so your search strategy depends on terrain. Start by exploring the biomes where you want to find dungeons—plains, desert, snowy regions, and jungle areas all have their own dungeon variants.

Underground Exploration Tips

Dig down to mid-level caves and tunnel systems. Dungeons are large structures, so you'll notice distinctive architecture: stone hallways, sandstone chambers in deserts, or icy caverns in snowy biomes. Listen for hostile mob sounds—skeletons, spiders, and other creatures spawn inside, making them easier to locate by audio cues.

Look for visual markers like glowing lava, copper pipes, or stone bridges visible through cave walls. These distinctive features help you identify dungeon entrances or exposed sections.

Preparation Before Entry

Bring adequate armor, weapons, and healing items. Dungeons contain multiple hostile mob encounters, so you'll face sustained combat. Bring torches or lanterns to navigate dark corridors safely and prevent additional mob spawns. Consider bringing blocks to create escape routes or safe platforms if you need to retreat.
