How to Get the Uchigatana and Other Special Weapons

Most weapons in the mod come in a material tier: Wooden, Stone, Golden, Iron, Diamond, or Netherite, across the Dagger, Longsword, Greatsword, Spear, and Tachi classes. Three weapons do not follow that pattern: the Bokken, the Uchigatana, and the Glove.

The Uchigatana is its own registry item, not a Tachi variant. Treat it as a separate goal rather than something you upgrade into from a Wooden or Iron Tachi. The Bokken is likewise a standalone craft, and the Glove is a distinct weapon rather than a material-tier blade.

Crafting the special weapons

All three use shaped recipes, so the ingredient layout in the crafting grid is what determines the result. Gather the materials the recipe calls for and place them in the correct pattern at a crafting table.

Because these are not part of the tier ladder, you cannot substitute a different material to get one. You either have the ingredients for the Uchigatana, Bokken, or Glove, or you do not.

If you are still building up gear, craft a standard weapon first, such as an Iron Longsword or Diamond Tachi, and use it while you collect what the special weapons need. Once you have the materials, craft the Uchigatana or Bokken directly and equip it like any other weapon.
