Troubleshooting Environmental Materials: What to Do When Nothing Appears

Environmental Materials adds no items or blocks, so "nothing appearing" is the normal state of the mod. Use this checklist to confirm your setup is working as intended.

Confirm the Mod Is Loaded

Open the mods screen and look for Environmental Materials in the list. If it is missing, reinstall it and relaunch. If it is present, the mod is running correctly and the absence of new content is expected.

Rule Out Conflicts

Because the mod registers nothing, it cannot conflict with other mods over item or block IDs. If you are seeing crashes or missing textures, the cause is another mod, not Environmental Materials. Disable other recently added mods one at a time to isolate the problem.

Check Configs and Keybinds

Look in your instance's config folder for a file named after the mod. Open it in a text editor and read the comments. Then check the controls menu for any keybinds the mod may have registered. These are the only places the mod can expose player-facing behavior when it adds no registry content.

When to Remove It

If you need the mod slot for content-adding mods and nothing in your pack depends on Environmental Materials, remove it. It will not change your world, your recipes, or your inventory.
