How to Craft Colored Smooth Glass and Borderless Glass Panes

Smooth Glass vs Borderless Glass

Colored glass comes in two visual styles per color: Smooth Glass and Borderless Glass. Black Smooth Glass, Blue Smooth Glass, Brown Smooth Glass, and the other colors each have a matching Smooth Glass Pane. The same colors also have Borderless Glass and Borderless Glass Pane versions.

Smooth Glass keeps a visible frame edge, which helps when you want windows to read as distinct panels. Borderless Glass removes that frame so adjacent panes merge into a continuous sheet. Use Borderless Glass for large uninterrupted windows and Smooth Glass where you want each pane to stand out.

Crafting Panes

Both glass types convert into panes through the crafting table. Take a block of Black Smooth Glass and craft it into Black Smooth Glass Pane, or take Black Borderless Glass and craft it into Black Borderless Glass Pane. The same conversion applies to every color: Blue, Brown, and the rest.

Plan by color first, then by style. If you are glazing a wall, decide whether you want the frame lines (Smooth) or a seamless surface (Borderless). Craft the block form in bulk, then cut panes only for the openings you are actually filling so you do not overproduce.
