Smooth Glass vs Borderless Glass

The glass set comes in two finishes per color: Smooth Glass and Borderless Glass. Each color also has a matching pane. For Black you can make Black Smooth Glass, Black Smooth Glass Pane, Black Borderless Glass, and Black Borderless Glass Pane. The same pattern applies to Blue, Brown, and the other supported colors.

Picking the Right Finish

Smooth Glass has a visible frame edge, which makes it read as a traditional window. Borderless Glass removes that frame, so adjacent panes or blocks blend into a single continuous sheet. Use Borderless Glass when you want an uninterrupted view or a seamless colored wall. Use Smooth Glass when you want each block to read as a distinct window unit.

Combining Colors

Because every color has both finishes and matching panes, you can build stained-glass patterns by alternating colors block by block. Place Black Borderless Glass Pane next to Blue Borderless Glass Pane for a clean two-tone divider, or mix Black Smooth Glass with Brown Smooth Glass for a framed mosaic. Panes are the better choice for thin dividers, while full glass blocks suit large windows and skylights.
