Equip Your Enderman Totem for Maximum Protection

Place the Totem in Your Off-Hand

The Enderman Totem of Undying functions identically to the vanilla totem—it activates automatically when you take fatal damage, but only if it's held in your off-hand slot.

Steps:

1. Open your inventory

2. Locate your Enderman Totem of Undying in your items

3. Click and drag it to your off-hand slot (the slot to the right of your main hand)

4. Close your inventory

You'll now see the dark Enderman figure with glowing purple eyes displayed in your off-hand, ready to save you from death.

Verify It's Active

When equipped correctly, the totem should be visibly held in your character's left hand during gameplay. The shadowy Enderman silhouette will be clearly visible against most biome backgrounds.

If you take damage that would normally kill you, the totem will activate automatically—no button press needed. You'll be restored to health and given temporary status effects, just like the vanilla version. The visual appearance is purely cosmetic; the protective magic remains unchanged.
