Troubleshoot Failed Smithing Conversions

Check Your Gear Tier

The most common issue is attempting to convert gear that isn't Diamond-tier Advanced Netherite. Verify your armor and tools are at the highest netherite tier before attempting conversion. Lower tiers will not work in the Smithing Table.

Verify Item Pairing

Ensure you're pairing matching items:

• Dragon helmet with netherite helmet
• Dragon chestplate with netherite chestplate
• Dragon sword with netherite sword

Mismatched item types will not produce output.

Smithing Table Setup

Confirm your Smithing Table is:

• Properly placed and not obstructed
• Opened correctly (right-click on the block)
• Functioning (try crafting a vanilla netherite upgrade first)

Mod Installation Check

If conversions fail entirely, verify the compatibility pack is installed alongside both Advanced Netherite and DragonLoot mods. The pack requires both parent mods to function. Check that your mod loader version (Forge or Fabric) matches the pack's requirements.
