Optimize Performance on Low-End Hardware

Verify Shader Quality Settings

Emerald Night Glow is designed for potato computers, but you can further optimize it. Check your shader options for quality presets—select "Low" or "Potato" mode if available. This reduces processing overhead while maintaining the core night vision effect.

Reduce Render Distance

Lower your render distance in Video Settings to decrease the area the shader must process each frame. Even dropping from 16 to 12 chunks can significantly improve performance without drastically affecting visibility.

Disable Unnecessary Features

Look for optional effects like bloom, ambient occlusion, or shadow enhancements in shader settings. Disabling these non-essential visual features frees up GPU resources for smoother gameplay.

Monitor Frame Rate

Use F3 (or your launcher's debug screen) to check your FPS while playing at night. If frames dip below your target, incrementally adjust the brightness slider or quality setting downward until performance stabilizes. The shader should run smoothly even on minimal hardware when properly configured.
