How to Get Started with Embers Rekindled

Your First Steps

Embers Rekindled is a tech mod built around ancient dwemer-style machinery, and your first goal is to build the Ember Bore and the Dawnstone Anvil. Before anything else, you need Ember Shards, which you obtain by mining Ember Ore found underground. Smelt Ember Ore in a furnace to get Ember Shards.

Building the Ember Bore

The Ember Bore is your first machine. Craft it using Ember Shards, Iron Ingots, and Dawnstone. Place the Ember Bore on top of an Ember Crystal deposit — you can find these by looking for Ember Crystal blocks underground. The Bore will slowly drill into the crystal and produce Ember Shards over time. You must place a Bin or Item Pipe next to the Bore to collect the shards, otherwise they will pop out and be lost.

The Dawnstone Anvil

The Dawnstone Anvil is your primary crafting station. Craft it with Dawnstone and Iron Ingots. Place it down and right-click to open its interface. Here you can craft Dawnstone Tools, Ember Tools, and other early-game items. You will need Ember Shards as fuel for many recipes. The Anvil also lets you craft the Ember Crystal Cell, which stores Ember for later use.

Next Steps

Once you have a steady supply of Ember Shards, build the Ember Activator and Ember Receptor to automate your Ember production. The Activator sends Ember to the Receptor, which can power other machines like the Ember Funnel and Ember Injector.
