Creating Consistent Atmosphere Across Different Times of Day
Understand Day/Night Lighting Changes
Eerie Alpha Glow applies its blue fog and retro colors differently depending on the time of day. During daylight, the effect feels eerie but visible; at night, the fog becomes oppressive and disorienting. This variation is intentional but can be adjusted.
Fine-Tune Time-Specific Settings
Many shader packs allow separate configuration for day and night phases:
- Daytime fog: Reduce thickness slightly so exploration remains possible while maintaining creepy aesthetics.
- Nighttime fog: Keep fog denser for maximum horror atmosphere, or reduce it if you want to navigate safely.
- Lighting balance: Adjust how much ambient light penetrates the fog during each phase.
Test Across Cycles
Play through a full day-night cycle in your world to see how settings feel in practice. Pay attention to visibility when mining, building, or exploring. The horror mood should feel consistent without making the game unplayable. If nights are too dark, slightly brighten ambient lighting. If days feel too washed out, increase color saturation. The goal is maintaining eerie atmosphere while keeping the game enjoyable.
